Boston Firefighter Briefly Trapped on Roof

Three firefighters were transported for injuries sustained in the three-alarm fire in Dorchester.

A Boston firefighter was briefly trapped on the roof of a burning Dorchester house Wednesday afternoon.

A Mayday was called. However, the firefighter escaped danger by climbing onto an aerial ladder.

Crews called for a three-alarm assignment as they were involved in an intense operations after encountering heavy smoke and fire billowing from a multi-story home, according to Boston 25. 

The fire department says a mayday order was issued after a firefighter became temporarily trapped on the roof. The firefighter was able to escape using one of the fire trucks’ aerial ladders.

Three firefighters were transported for treatment of minor injuries.
